Find your direction. Build your confidence. Move forward.
Sometimes you know you want something to change, but you're not sure what that change should look like.
Perhaps you're approaching the end of your military or emergency-service career.
Perhaps you've already left and are wondering what comes next.
Maybe you've lost confidence, feel stuck, or are struggling to work out who you are outside of the role you've spent years building your life around.
Or perhaps nothing is particularly wrong — you simply know that you want more from your life.
Coaching can give you dedicated time and space to step back, think clearly and decide what you want your next chapter to look like.
Coaching for life's transitions
I offer coaching for adults who are navigating change and want support turning uncertainty into a clearer direction.
I have a particular interest in supporting serving personnel, veterans and people working in demanding or high-pressure roles, particularly during periods of transition.
This might include:
Preparing to leave the military or emergency services
Adjusting to civilian life
Finding a new sense of purpose
Exploring career options
Building confidence after a major life change
Understanding who you are outside of your professional role
Setting meaningful goals
Making important decisions
Improving motivation
Managing change
Developing healthier routines and habits
Creating a clearer vision for your future
Starting a new chapter of your life
You don't have to know exactly what you want before starting coaching.
Sometimes the first step is simply recognising that you want something to change.
When your identity has been built around your role
For many people, work becomes much more than a job.
It can provide:
Purpose.
Structure.
Identity.
Routine.
Belonging.
Achievement.
Connection.
When that role changes or comes to an end, it can leave some surprisingly big questions behind.
Who am I now?
What do I actually want?
What am I good at outside of this role?
Where do I belong?
What does a fulfilling life look like for me now?
You don't have to have all the answers.
Coaching can provide a space to explore those questions and start building a direction that feels meaningful to you.
Coaching isn't about telling you what to do
You are the person who knows your life, circumstances and values best.
My role isn't to make decisions for you.
Instead, I'll help you step back from the noise, explore your options, identify what matters to you and turn your thoughts into practical steps.
We can look at:
Where you are now → Where you want to be → What's getting in the way → What you can do next
Sometimes having someone outside your everyday life ask the right questions can help you see possibilities that were difficult to see on your own.
Confidence and moving forward
Major transitions can affect how you see yourself.
You might have lost confidence after leaving a familiar environment.
You might be comparing yourself to who you used to be.
You might know that you're capable of more but feel unsure how to get there.
Coaching can help you reconnect with your strengths, recognise what you've already achieved and identify the qualities you can take with you into the next stage of your life.
Your previous experience doesn't disappear just because your role has changed.
There may be more possibilities ahead than you can currently see.
Counselling or coaching?
It's completely understandable if you're unsure which type of support you need.
A simple way of thinking about the difference is:
Counselling
Counselling can help when you want to explore emotional difficulties, past experiences, relationships, trauma, anxiety, low mood or other issues affecting your wellbeing.
It can involve looking at what has happened and how it continues to affect you.
Coaching
Coaching is generally more future-focused.
It can help you explore goals, decisions, confidence, direction, motivation, change and what you want your life to look like going forward.
The two aren't interchangeable, and the right approach depends on what you need.
If you're unsure, we can talk about it together before you decide.
You don't need to be struggling to benefit from coaching
Coaching isn't only for people who feel stuck.
You might simply be asking:
“What's next for me?”
“I know I can do more, but what?”
“How do I turn an idea into a plan?”
“How do I get my confidence back?”
“What do I actually want from the next stage of my life?”
Those are worthwhile questions.
You don't need to wait until things become difficult before investing in yourself.
A coaching space that is about you
My approach is person-centred, collaborative and non-judgemental.
I won't give you a list of instructions and expect you to follow them.
Instead, we'll work together to understand what matters to you and identify realistic steps forward.
You remain in control of your decisions.
My aim is to help you move from thinking about change to taking meaningful action.
Ready for your next chapter?
Whether you're leaving a career, changing direction, rebuilding confidence or simply looking for more purpose, you don't have to work everything out on your own.
Sometimes you just need a space to stop, think and ask yourself:
“What do I want my life to look like from here?”
If you're ready to explore that question, I'd be happy to work with you.
