Workplace Wellbeing & Workshops
Helping people work better together
A healthy workplace isn't created by policies alone.
It is created through the way people communicate, support one another and respond when things become difficult.
Over the past seven years, I have been one of two people responsible for developing a national non-profit organisation, while helping manage a team of around 100 volunteers, including responsibilities involving HR.
This experience has given me first-hand insight into the realities of bringing people from different backgrounds, personalities and experiences together.
I've seen how much difference patience, understanding, communication and mutual support can make — and how quickly frustration, misunderstanding and poor communication can affect a team.
This is one of the reasons I am passionate about workplace wellbeing and healthier organisational cultures.
Wellbeing is about people, not just policies
We can have wellbeing policies, employee assistance programmes and mental health initiatives, but everyday interactions still matter.
How do people speak to each other when they're under pressure?
Can someone admit that they're struggling without feeling judged?
How are disagreements handled?
Do people feel listened to?
Can people with very different backgrounds and personalities work together respectfully?
And when frustration starts to build, do people have the skills to pause, understand each other and respond rather than react?
A healthy culture is built through these everyday moments.
Workshops for organisations
I offer practical, engaging workshops and talks designed to help organisations explore wellbeing, communication and healthier workplace culture.
Depending on your organisation's needs, workshops can explore:
Mental Health & Workplace Wellbeing
Understanding mental health, recognising when someone may be struggling and creating a workplace where wellbeing can be discussed openly.
Stress, Pressure & Burnout
Recognising the impact of sustained pressure and exploring healthier ways of managing demands.
Communication & Understanding
Developing greater awareness of how we communicate, listen and respond to people who may think or work differently from us.
Working Well With Different People
Exploring differences in personality, background, communication style and experience — and how we can work together without allowing differences to become sources of frustration.
Managing Frustration & Conflict
Understanding what happens when frustration builds and developing more constructive ways of responding to difficult interactions.
Creating a Supportive Culture
Looking at the everyday behaviours that help people feel respected, valued, included and supported.
Psychological Safety
Exploring what helps people feel comfortable speaking up, asking questions, admitting mistakes and asking for support.
Boundaries & Sustainable Working
Considering healthy boundaries, workload, expectations and ways of working that support long-term wellbeing.
From different backgrounds, working towards the same goal
One of the things I have learned through my organisational experience is that people don't have to be the same to work well together.
In fact, diverse experiences and perspectives can make a team stronger.
But working with differences requires understanding.
It requires patience.
It requires the ability to listen without immediately becoming defensive.
And sometimes it requires us to pause before reacting.
A strong team doesn't mean that everyone agrees all the time.
It means people can disagree without losing respect for one another.
Practical workshops, not just theory
My approach combines my counselling and coaching background with my practical experience of working within a national voluntary organisation.
I understand that organisations are made up of real people dealing with real pressures.
My aim is to create sessions that are:
Accessible
Practical
Relevant
Non-judgemental
Interactive where appropriate
Adapted to the needs of your organisation
The goal isn't simply for people to leave knowing more about wellbeing.
It is for them to leave with something they can use in their everyday working relationships.
Workshops can be tailored to your organisation
Every team is different.
A workshop can be designed around your organisation's particular circumstances, whether you are looking for:
A one-off wellbeing talk
A team workshop
A wellbeing day
A session for managers
Mental health awareness
Communication and team relationships
Support around workplace stress
Conflict and frustration
A series of wellbeing workshops
A bespoke session based on your team's needs
Let's start a conversation
If you want to create a workplace where people feel supported, respected and able to work well together, I'd be happy to discuss what your organisation needs.
We can explore the challenges your team is experiencing and design a workshop around them.
Because workplace wellbeing isn't only about how individuals cope.
It's also about how we treat one another.
